Chicago has a long and storied history with blues music, developing a distinct style of the genre in the 1940s. Blues music arrived in the city during the Great Migration, when African Americans moved from the South to the North seeking a better life. After a long day of work in the industrialized city, new Chicagoans gathered in small clubs to play the music they had brought with them. The sound soon evolved, incorporating the prominent use of electrified instruments, particularly the guitar, which set Chicago blues apart from traditional blues. With the introduction of the electric guitar, Chicago blues significantly influenced the development of early rock and roll and continues to have a worldwide impact today. Our new Chicago Blues Dish Towel celebrates this rich history forever ingrained in the culture of the city.

Make of the towel is 100% superior heavy weight cotton, 20." x 27." approximately
