Established in 1921, the Chicago Theatre was one of the first movie palaces in America, designed to create a luxurious movie-going experience. While theater pop-ups were gaining popularity across the country, the audience's experience had not yet been a priority. The Chicago Theatre aimed to encourage patrons to spend more time enjoying every detail, providing a regal atmosphere. This vision sparked a movement towards more atmospheric styles in theaters.
